Known as “The West’s Oldest Independent Bookseller,” they certainly live up to their name; knowledgeable and friendly staff. Books Inc. sometimes hosts events, such as author’s keynotes and book club gatherings. A nod to Black Oak Books, which closed its doors in the same location after 33 years.
Lo Coco’s: This secret local favorite spot stops HERE. The original Lo Coco’s Restaurant was founded by Giovanni Lo Coco in 1966 in the California foothills. Ever since, he’s passed down his secret pizza dough recipe like a family heirloom. No frills Italian, served by Sicilians who mean business. Quite possibly the best pizza in Berkeley.
