SPOTS TO CHECK OUT
If you are in the area, here are 5 places you must see.

Kirala: Quality fresh fish at this joint. Quite possibly the best sushi in Berkeley. Kirala has been serving traditional sushi and Robata grill specialties that simply can’t compare to anywhere else. It’s been voted one of the B=best Japanese restaurants in Berkeley. Consider it an upscale family restaurant!

Bongo Burger: There’s a good reason why Bongo Burger considers themselves to serve up the best burger in Berkeley. Yummy burgers AND really good middle eastern food served with Persian flair. Their hummus, falafel, and tabouleh are A+. And the Shish Kabob Sandwich is a common go-to!

Willard Park: Willard Park is a popular neighborhood gathering place featuring a large grass area encircled by redwoods where doggies roam free. Also has tennis courts, a clubhouse, and a “tot lot” play structure.

Berkeley Bowl: Previously based in a bowling alley (as its name suggests), Berkeley Bowl Marketplace has earned a cult following for offering fantastically fresh produce and many hard to find products. You can even purchase an organic Produce Box, or shop in bulk (Costco who?).

Sports Basement: Sports Basement is a locally-owned sport goods shop housed in an old ice skating rink with CRAZY sales on top brands, sometimes as much as 50% off. I’m not sure how they do it, but they do it and do it well. They even offer specialty services, like bike tune-ups, ski and snowboard waxing, and tennis racket re-stringing.
